Spicy Chicken Gyoza Bok Choy Miso Soup
Trader Joes (TJ’s) has many amazing low-sodium Asian-inspired ingredients. You can’t skimp out on the variety of flavors in this soup, including miso, ginger, garlic, onion, pepper, and the fresh bok choy to the hearty chicken gyoza. It makes for the perfect quick dinner. Not to mention, ingredients like onions, garlic, ginger and leafy greens, help protect the immune system, which contain compounds with anti-inflammatory properties. We still need this even while summer is kicking off and pollen is in the air.
Why do we love this? It takes 15 min to make. It is balanced. It is delicious. And it is EASY. Save for a lazy day.
Ingredients:
1 container Miso ginger broth (TJ’s)
Goya Sazonador Total (local Hispanic market)
2 Tbsp Garlic powder
2 Tbsp Minced dried onion
2 Tbsp Olive oil
2 Tbsp Roasted sesame seeds (local Asian market)
Black peppercorn (ground)
1 tsp Pure sesame oil (local Asian Market)
1 tsp Ginger powder (optional: the miso broth already has ginger)
1 Tbsp Crunchy chili onion (TJ’s) (more if you want extra spice or offer in individual bowls)
1 package Chicken gyoza potstickers/gyoza (TJ’s frozen aisle)
1 package Bok Choy (TJ’s fresh vegetables)
3-4 Fresh basil leaves
Instructions:
Rinse the bok choy.
Chop the bok choy into 1-2 inch pieces and set aside.
Sautee the gyoza with two oils and rotate on all sides (follow instructions on package)
Heat the broth to boil with gyoza (don’t boil too long to avoid gyoza from breaking). Add in sliced bok choy. Add in seasonings (Sazonador, garlic powder, minced onion, sesame seeds, black peppercorn and ginger powder.
Drizzle with chili onion crunch to taste and top with fresh basil. Enjoy and stay healthy!
